Skinny and insecure
Growing up, I was incredibly skinny. Little confidence in my physique, and even less in how I looked without a shirt on.
Hiding under hoodies
I hated wearing T-shirts and spent most of my time in hoodies because I didn't want people to see how skinny I was. During summer, when everyone else was comfortable taking their shirt off, I couldn't bring myself to do it.
Pigeon chest, no confidence
I had a pigeon chest and thin arms, and I hated how it looked in every mirror and every photo. I was embarrassed, and more than that, I was tired of feeling that way.
One summer changed everything. I made a promise to myself that by the following summer, I would become someone who was proud of the way he looked. That promise became an obsession.
Started training at home
Before I even stepped into a gym, I spent months learning everything I could about building muscle properly. I trained at home for my first five months because I wasn't confident enough to walk into a gym yet.
Eventually joined a gym
When I finally joined, I attacked every session with purpose: progressive overload, consistency, and eating enough to grow. Over time, that dedication transformed not only my physique but also my confidence and mindset.
76kg to 120kg
My journey took me from 76kg to 120kg in a year, before later completing a successful cut to reveal the physique I had worked so hard to build.
Why AP Ascension exists
Going from the skinny guy to the strongest version of myself changed my life, not just physically. For years, I believed I just wasn't built to put on muscle. I was wrong. That transformation taught me that real change doesn't come from genetics or luck. It comes from discipline, consistency and following the right plan.
Every time I see a skinny guy, I see a younger version of myself. I know what it's like to feel small, to feel insecure about how your body looks, and to believe you'll never be able to build the physique you want. The truth is, most of them have no idea what they're truly capable of.
I want to inspire the next generation of skinny guys to believe they can change too, and to realise they don't have to spend their life feeling insecure. To help them stop hiding, stand taller, and become genuinely proud of the physique they've built through hard work.
There's no better feeling than looking in the mirror and being proud of the person staring back at you, knowing you earned it. Even if I can help just one skinny guy feel the confidence I once lacked and become proud of the person he sees in the mirror, then everything I've learned along the way will have been worth it.
